There are a lot of places in Nigeria that a lot of us do not know of. These locations are not only picturesque but hold a potential to generate adequate revenue from both foreign and local visitors.
These are seven places in Nigeria you should probably add to your travel list in 2022…
1. Ogbunike Cave

Maldives, is that you? No! This cave is located in Anambra State, Nigeria. This cave has some spiritual significance. As a result, there are a few rules you must follow if you plan on visiting this location. Women for example, are not allowed in the cave while menstruating.
2. Yusufari Oasis
The Yusufari Oasis located in Yobe State is right at the middle of a very beautiful desert called the Tulo Tulo Sand Dunes. If you decide to visit this location, you can upgrade your tourist status by visiting Niger too.
3. Ibeno Beach
Yes! There are beaches in Nigeria that are not in Lagos. Not just that, but did you know that Ibeno beach is the longest beach in Africa? It is located in Akwa Ibom state.
4. Crush Rock
Keep moving if you live in Abuja. Crush rock in particular, is one of Abuja’s favorite chilling destinations. If you’re a visitor to FCT, this is a nice place to go get some nice Instagram-worthy shots.
5. Kajuru Castle
Transcorp Hilton what! Kajuru castle is an actual castle in Kaduna State. The castle was built in the 1980s and is described on Wikipedia as an African version of the Bavarian Castle in a very grand 19th-century Romanesque revival style. If that isn’t fancy, I don’t know what is.
6. Sambisa Game Reserve
Who is coming with us? Sambisa forest is not just the home of Boko Haram terrorists. It once upon a time harbored the Sambisa Game Reserve. It was home to a healthy number of leopards, hyenas, lions, and elephants. Consequently, the reserve was a major tourist attraction.
7. Ado Awaye Suspended Lake
To begin with, there are only two suspended lakes in the world and you probably didn’t know one resides in Nigeria. Suspended lakes are lakes found in mountains. It’s such a rare phenomenon, and Nigerians should visit this location more.
