1. King Of Boys

It’s not every day we see a Nollywood movie portraying a woman as powerful. This film, which stars Sola Sobowale as Alhaja Eniola Salami, depicts the life of a businesswoman who wants to rise to the height of her political ambition. As we’re all familiar with politics, she gets dragged into a lot of dirty dealings which cost her a lot; including the death of her two children. The most thrilling thing about this movie was seeing a bold woman own the streets and establish her authority. She’s definitely not a role model, but it was nice to see a woman act as a king. In other words, this movie screams power.

2. Living In Bondage

After its release, Living In Bondage became the 11th highest grossing movie in Nigeria. Starring Ramsey Nouah, who is such a phenomenal actor, he acts as Richard Williams, the chief priest of a cult. He tries to drag Nnamdi Okeke, the son of an estranged member, into the cult as a fulfillment of his father’s pledge. Nnamdi, despite enjoying the good things, fought to break away, which led to a tussle between the chief priest and himself. This movie was acted so well, and shockingly, the cult scenes were actually scary and not cringy like the typical cult setup of Nollywood movies.

I’m sure you’ve figured it out by now. If you see Ramsey Nouah in any film, you need to watch it. This movie, based on true events, depicted the lives of Captain Dewa (Ramsey Nouah) and his wife, Suzy (Rita Dominic), who were tasked with proving Captain Dewa’s innocence following a military coup. We cannot overstate how well this movie was acted. Specifically, the outfits, houses and picture quality are sure to capture your attention.
